
Mudbugs Close out NAHL Showcase

Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
The Shreveport Mudbugs (3-3) battled hard, but fell short in a heartbreaking loss to the Jamestown Rebels, 2-1 in their final game of the NAHL Showcase.
The Mudbugs found themselves in the penalty box three times in the first period, but were able to kill all of them off to keep the game scoreless. The Rebels out-shot the Bugs, 9-6 in a 0-0 first period.
The Bugs came out strong in the 2nd period out-shooting the Rebels, 15-8 in the frame and 21-17 overall. The game stayed scoreless though due to great goaltending from both Leo Chuard of Shreveport and Noah West of Jamestown.
Shreveport kept working hard in the third period and dramatically tied the game up at 1 when Andrew Jackson swept in the rebound in front for third goal of the season at 17:08. The Rebels would come right back though and score off a rebound of their own in front at 18:44. Jim Glynn knocked in the game-winner as the Bugs lost 2-1.
Shreveport out-shot Jamestown, 34-27 despite losing their third straight.
Shreveport will return to South Division action this Friday night as they'll travel to Corpus Christi to take on the Ice Rays at the American Bank Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ?
