Mudbugs Add Hodgson to Blue Line

January 3, 2003 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Prior to their game tonight against the Austin Ice Bats, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs announced the addition of defenseman Gavin Hodgson to their lineup. The third-year pro comes to the Mudbugs after playing in ten games with the Johnstown Chiefs of the East Coast Hockey League earlier this year.

Hodgson spent all of last season with San Angelo of the Central Hockey League and appeared in 58 games for the Outlaws. Prior to entering the CHL, Hodgson spent parts of two seasons in the West Coast Hockey League, including 46 games with the Tacoma Sabercats in 2000-2001.

The 6'3'' 210-pound defenseman hails from Midland, Ontario and will take the place of Luc Theoret on the Mudbugs' blue line. Theoret left the team earlier in the week to accept an assistant coaching position in the Western Hockey League.

Tonight is "Barksdale Appreciation Night" at the CenturyTel Center. The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will be wearing special patriotic jerseys, which will be auctioned off after the game, to honor America and the men and women of Barksdale Air Force Base. The Mudbugs will take on the Austin Ice Bats for the first time this season, at 7:05 p.m.

Tickets are currently available for all Mudbugs home games by calling Ticketmaster at 741-9700, or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.
