CONGRATULATIONS! Bucks Eric Schneider and Michel Periard and Cotton King Blaz Emersic are slated to be teammates on the 2003 Southern Conference All-Star Team at the CHL Dodge All-Star Game in Oklahoma City on Thursday, January 23. Schneider was the leading vote-getter among all CHL players.

PROUD PAPA: Congratulations are in order for new parents Joey Sewell and Meredith Hamilton. Mikayla Rose Sewell is the latest addition to the Bucks family. Mikayla Rose was born at Doctors Hospital on 10:15am on Wednesday, January 1, 2003, just two days after Papa Joey was named CHL Player of the Week. Mikayla Rose weighed in at nine pounds, four ounces. Congratulations, Joey & Meredith!

NEW KING IN LUBBOCK: Tracy Egeland has taken the reins as the head coach of the Cotton Kings. Egeland took over December 17 after Bill McDonald left Lubbock for New Mexico. Egeland, 3-4-1 since accepting the job as head coach, had a terrific playing career in the Western Hockey League and also in the pro ranks for twelve seasons. Egeland played with, among others: Indianapolis (IHL), Hershey (AHL), Huntington (ECHL) and Lubbock (WPHL/CHL).

RAMPAGE: Michel Periard notched an assist in his first game for San Antonio last night as the Rampage defeated the Rochester Americans, 5-4 in overtime at the SBC Center. Former Bucks center Dave Gove also had an assist. Gove has two goals, nine assists, 14 penalty minutes and an even plus/minus in 28 games with the Rampage. Tonight's officials: Gord Dwyer, Chris Libett and Moe LeBlanc also worked last night's game in San Antonio.
