Batavia, NY - The Muckdogs return home this Sunday, August 2nd for a two game series with the Williamsport Crosscutters, an affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. Sunday's game time is 5:05 p.m. with gates opening at 4 p.m. featuring the first homecoming for Batavia native, Ryan Gugel, who played for Batavia High and Genesee Community College. He was signed as a free agent with the Phillies in June. This will mark the first time he has played at Dwyer Stadium during his professional baseball career.
The Muckdogs finish up their two game series with the Crosscutters on Monday, August 3rd at 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6 p.m. That night is Muckdog Monday presented by The Daily News. Fans can look for a $1.00 off coupon in the Saturday edition of The Daily News. The coupon can be redeemed for a $1 off a General Admission coupon at the Muckdogs box office. Monday is also Jimmy Buffett Tribute Night. Fans are encouraged to dress in tropical attire and be prepared to sit back and relax to the music of Jimmy Buffett. The first 200 fans will receive a lei and there will be live Jimmy Buffett music pregame by Paul Killion, Acoustic Warrior.
On Tuesday August 4th, the Muckdogs start a three game series with the Brooklyn Cyclones, a New York Mets affiliate. Tuesday's game is at 7:05 p.m. with gates opening at 6 p.m. The Drummer Pennysaver is sponsoring a "Muckdog Gazette" giveaway to the 1st 500 fans. This special edition Muckdogs Insider newspaper features player profiles and updates on past Muckogs players. It is also a Free Dog Night courtesy of Zweigle's. The first 200 fans through the gates will receive a free Zweigle's hot dog. Fans can also bring a KRAFT Singles wrapper to the box office to receive a buy one get one ticket courtesy of KRAFT Singles. Finally, it is also a Knot Hole Gang game presented by Turnbull Heating & Air. Knot Hole Gang members can purchase a $2.00 General Admission ticket and Knot Hole Gang member parents receive a $1.00 off their tickets.
Game two of the series with the Cyclones is Wednesday, August 5th at 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6 p.m. That night the first 500 fans will receive a Frisbee courtesy of the Genesee County ARC. It is also a Family Four Pack Night. Fans can get 4 General Admission tickets, 4 Hot Dogs, 4 Sodas and a Program for only $30.
The Muckdogs finish up their three game set on Thursday, August 6th at 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6 p.m. That night is the 2nd annual "First Pitch Fly In" to benefit Mercy Flight. Before the game, one lucky fan will be flown into the game on the Mercy Flight helicopter. The helicopter will land in centerfield and the lucky fan will throw out the first pitch to that night's game.
