Mountain Lions to Call Raley Field Home in 2012

SACRAMENTO, CA., AUG. 6, 2012 -- The Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League today announced that their entire 2012 home schedule will be played at Raley Field, home of the Pacific Coast League's Sacramento River Cats baseball team.

After the Mountain Lions play their opening game at Las Vegas against the Locomotives on Wednesday, Sept. 19, they will return to Sacramento for their home opener at Raley Field on Friday, Sept. 28, at 8 p.m. PT. The home opener will be the first of four home games for the Mountain Lions this season, with the remaining three home dates scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 10 (6 p.m. PT), Friday, Nov. 2 (6 p.m. PT) and Wednesday, Nov. 7 (6 p.m. PT).

The Mountain Lions' home opener will be the first-ever football game played at Raley Field, which opened on May 15, 2000. Raley Field also has played host to concerts, soccer matches, running and bike races, and boxing matches. The seating capacity for football will be 14,014, which is the same capacity as the traditional baseball set-up.

All eight 2012 Mountain Lions games-four home and four road games-will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network, which is available in more than 99 million homes.
