Mother Nature Rains on Dogs' Parade

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - After a 3-hour, 14-minute rain delay, the Fayetteville SwampDogs dropped a soggy contest to the Martinsville Mustangs 6-1 on Thursday night.

Starting pitcher Rayne Raven allowed four runs in five innings of work, including two on a home run off the bat of Max Beerman.

Mustangs starter Matt Petrizzi had his best outing of the season, working seven innings, allowing one unearned run while walking one and striking out seven.

The one SwampDogs run was scored by Palmer Page, who reached on an error from Beerman, and scored on a groundout by Kam Stewart.

With the loss, Raven falls to 1-1 on the season, while Petrizzi improves to 1-2 with the win.

The SwampDogs travel to take on the Morehead City Marlins Friday night, before returning home to face the Asheboro Copperheads on Saturday, June 21st. For tickets and more information, call 910-426-5900.
