Forest City Owls News Release

FOREST CITY - The Owls have dominated at home all season long, and they did so again on Friday night at McNair Field against the Asheboro Copperheads.

Hunter Bryant exploded early with 4 RBI's in the first two innings and four pitchers combined to allow just three hits in a 6-1 victory.

Bryant's RBI's came from a league leading fifth homerun, which was a two-run homerun in the first and followed up in his next at-bat with a two RBI single in the second inning.

Owl's starter Eric Birklund went four innings, allowing one run on one hit and struck out three before he was replaced by Mitch Warner (1-0). Warner combined with newcomers Orlando Razo and Colin Hightower to allow just two hits in the remaining five innings.

Conor Clancey and Zach Cerbo each added two hits and an RBI in the game.

With the 6-1 win, the Owls have now outscored their opponents 47-19 at home, and improve to 8-1 at home on the year.

Tomorrow night, the Forest City Owls will take on the Gastonia Grizzles at home for their fifth matchup of the season.

Make sure you arrive early as the first one thousand fans will receive baseball card set number three, which includes outfielders Maleeke Gibson and Matt Dezort, and shortstop Joey Hawkins.

Forest City Little League will also be holding its closing ceremonies tomorrow at McNair Field at 5:00 p.m and one lucky fan will have the opportunity to win a Chevrolet Camaro if they can toss a Frisbee through the window of the car.

The Owls will continue the 2014 season at home tomorrow night as they take on Gastonia at 7:30.
