Moose Assign Heshka to Victoria

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have assigned defenceman Shaun Heshka to the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.

Heshka, 21, has appeared in two games with the Moose so far in his first season of professional hockey. Last season, with the WHL's Everett Silvertips, the Melleville, SK native scored 10 goals and 49 assists for 59 points and 91 penalty minutes to finish second in the entire league in scoring amongst defencemen. He was also second in scoring amongst defencemen in the WHL playoffs when he collected three goals and 10 assists for 13 points and 10 penalty minutes in 14 games. Overall, Heshka finished up his junior career with 25 goals and 82 assists for 107 points and 137 penalty minutes in 204 career WHL games.
