Wolves Vice Chairman Named "Man of the Year"

Chicago Wolves Vice Chairman BUDDY MEYERS will be honored as the Shromrim Society of Illinois' 2006 "Man of the Year" at its Annual Dinner on Sun., Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.

The Shomrim Society, which includes over 200 local members, is part of a national organization of Law Enforcement Officers of the Jewish Faith that has been active in the community for nearly 46 years.

"Buddy has been involved in the Chicago sports scene for a long time and he's always been a staunch supporter of the Shomrim Society and active throughout Chicagoland charities," said Elliot Cohen, Director of Special Activies for the Shomrim Society. "He deserves it."

In addition to supporting multiple other philanthropic organizations, the Shomrim Society also funds several scholarships. As this year's "Man of the Year" Meyers has named the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces his charity of choice, and a portion of funds raised this year will go to that organization.

Meyers is a principal owner of the Wolves and a practicing attorney in the law firm of William Buddy Meyers, Ltd.
