Manitoba Moose News Release

With tonight's 3-2 win against the Providence Bruins at the Winnipeg Arena, the Manitoba Moose have captured the best-of-five conference quarterfinal series by a 3-1 margin. This result propels the Moose into the Eastern Conference Semifinal. The team will now face the number one seed in the Eastern Conference, the Hamilton Bulldogs, in the best-of-seven conference semifinal.

Manitoba established franchise history with their first back-to-back series wins in a playoff season. This was only the second series clinched on home ice by the Moose (1999 Playoffs against the Milwaukee Admirals on Apr. 23). The franchise had never won a best-of-five series in their nine year playoff history prior to tonight's series victory.
