Verdun Auditorium, September 12th 2010 - The Montreal Juniors defeated the Gatineau Olympiques 7 to 6 this afternoon at the Verdun Auditorium. Philippe Lefebvre had five points (4g, 1a) while Louis Leblanc (1g, 3a) and Nicolas Chouinard (0g, 4a) each had four points.

Gatineau went up early in the first with Philippe Halley scoring at 3:42 into the game, however the Juniors would soon even things up with Philippe Lefebvre scoring on the power play from a quick feed from Louis Leblanc. Gatineau took the lead again on the power play, but the Juniors came right back with Lefebvre scoring his second of the game at 11:47, assisted once again by Leblanc. Forward Philippe Fontaine gave the Juniors the lead at 14:03, but Gatineau's Samuel Morneau tied it up moments later, ending at the period at 3 a piece.

The Olympiques jumped out to an early lead in the second with two quick goals. However, Leblanc would cut their lead to one scoring his first goal as a Montreal Junior at 4:51 in the period. The Juniors tied the game with Lefebvre completing his hat trick at 10:59. Lefebvre would go on to his fourth goal of the game not long after at 13:59 by banging in a rebound in front of the goal mouth. Veteran Jeremy Gouchie tallied his first of the year at 15:42 putting the Juniors up 7-5 to end off the period.

The Juniors pulled through to win the game 7-6 despite a last ditch effort from Gatineau's Philippe Halley with the goalie pulled in the last minute of the game.

The Montreal Juniors are now 1-1 to start off their 2010-2011 campaign. The Juniors next touch home ice against the highly-touted Saint John Seadogs on Friday, September 24th at 7:05PM, and will be back at it the next day for a matinee against the Val-d'Or Foreurs at 3:05PM.
