Montreal Juniors News Release

Montreal, August 10th, 2010 - It was at Newtown Restaurant, 1476 Crescent Street, that the Montreal Juniors formally introduced their latest acquisition, Montreal Canadiens' 2009 first-round draft pick, Louis Leblanc. The former 18th overall selection was joined by fellow Juniors teammates Francis Meilleur, Charles-Olivier Roussel, Charles Landry and Philippe Lefebvre, also acquired by the team over the summer.

Martin Routhier, president of the Juniors, expressed excitement for the upcoming season. "Over the last few months we've been able to build a team that we believe can be very successful," said Mr. Routhier. "They really are a group of extraordinary young men committed to hockey, the educational standards that the club upholds, as well as participating in our 'Score in School' program taking place throughout the Montreal region,".

Head coach and general manager Pascal Vincent was also on hand after announcing his plans to stay on with the Juniors. ''We want to be the best team we can be,'' Vincent said. "Developing the right culture with the right chemistry and vision is what we need to be successful, and I firmly believe in our chances of that this season. We have a solid duo in net combined with one of the best defensive systems of the league, along with several assets up front like the guys you see here today."

In addition to the roster movements made during the offseason, the team will be able to count on several members from their 2009-2010 roster, most notably NHL-drafted Louis-Marc Aubry of the Detroit Red Wings and Jean-François Bérubé of the Los Angeles Kings.

The 2010-2011 season begins September 10th at Verdun Auditorium, where the Montreal Juniors will open up their season at home against the Shawinigan Cataractes.
