Montreal Juniors Defeated in Fifth Preseason Game

Varennes, September 2nd 2010 - The Montreal Juniors lost 4-3 against the Val d'Or Foreurs tonight in their fifth and final preseason game.

The Foreurs opened the scoring at 7:56 in the first with an unassisted goal by defenseman Olivier Dallaire, followed by another goal at 11:22 by Alexandre Touchette, assisted by Shawn Morton-Boutin and Olivier Archambault. The Juniors countered at 15:05 with a goal by Louis-Marc Aubry, assisted by Trevor Parkes and the captain of the team, Nicolas Chouinard.

Val d'Or scored first in the second period at 12:28 with a goal from Alexandre Touchette, once again assisted by Shawn Morton-Boutin and Olivier Archambault. The Juniors equalled the score with two consecutive goals by left winger Eliezer Sherbatov, at 15:31 and 18:46, the first assisted by Francis Meilleur and Philippe Lefebvre, and the second by Denis Kindl.

Xavier Ouellet scored the only goal for the Juniors in shootouts. For Val d'Or, Brett Hester and Olivier Dallaire scored in the shootout, securing the win for the team.

The Juniors open the season in front of their home crowd at the Verdun Auditorium, this upcoming September 10th at 7:05pm, against the Shawinigan Cataractes.
