Monterey Bay Heads Down to Southern California for Fixture with Orange County SC

IRVINE, California - Monterey Bay F.C. (4-1-2, 14 points) travels South to Irvine for an in-state 7:00 p.m. PT kickoff on Saturday against Orange County SC (3-1-3, 12 points) at Championship Soccer Stadium in Week 8 of the 2024 USL Championship regular season. Live streaming of the match will be available on ESPN+.

Heading into the match against its Southern California foes on Saturday, Monterey Bay finds itself with a high-level of confidence in the midst of a four-game winning streak in all competitions, including three straight in regular season league play. During this current four-game stretch that has the Club in second place in the Western Conference through seven weeks, the Crisp-and-Kelp allowed just three goals while also adding eight of their own for a positive five-goal difference. Looking to continue its winning ways, Monterey Bay now heads to Irvine to take on fifth place Orange County SC.

Orange County comes into the fray having just lost its first match of the season, a 2-0 loss to another in-state side, Sacramento Republic FC.. Before that, however, Orange County had gone undefeated with three wins in its first five matches. Orange County will look to shake off its loss to Republic FC with a bounce-back win at home over the Seasiders.

Last time the two sides met was in Monterey Bay's season finale last season at Cardinale Stadium, with Orange County taking a 1-0 win to complete the season double over MBFC behind a first-half goal from Milan Iloski. Before that, the sides met in Irvine on July 1, where Orange County came from behind to win 3-1 with all three of their goals coming in the final 20 minutes of the match. Overall, the series is tied at two wins apiece through four meetings with an even goal difference at four goals apiece as well.
