Monterey Bay F.C. vs. Indy Eleven
Cardinale Stadium; Seaside, California
Saturday, September 17, 2022; 7:00 p.m. PT
Records: Monterey Bay F.C. (11-14-2, 35 points); Indy Eleven (9-14-5, 32 points)
FiveThirtyEight Predictor: MBFC 48%, IND 24%, Draw 28%
Match Outlook: In the first-ever matchup between the sides, Monterey Bay F.C. will host Indy Eleven at Cardinale Stadium. With the playoff race in the Western Conference heating up, each of the final seven matches are crucial for the Crisp and Kelp to get results and earn as many points as possible. For Indy, a loss would mean mathematical elimination from the playoffs in 2022.
Connections: In 2020, Union midfielder Sam Gleadle shared the pitch with Indy Eleven defender Jared Timmer as teammates for USL Championship club Reno 1868.
Additional Notes: Coming off of two consecutive wins at Cardinale Stadium, the Union will look to make it three in a row as the climb above the playoff line continues. In addition, the Crisp and Kelp are 3-0-1 against the Eastern Conference this season. Overall, Monterey Bay F.C. is 7-5-2 so far this season at home, while Indy Eleven is 2-9-3 on the road.
