Monsters Open Training Camp Tomorrow

Cleveland Monsters News Release


Cleveland's Lake Erie Monsters will officially begin the 2014-15 season when they open their eighth annual training camp Tuesday, September 30th at OBM Arena at IceLand USA in Strongsville. All practices that are held at OBM Arena at IceLand USA are free and open to the public. The Monsters will practice Tuesday, September 30th through Friday, October 3rd before hitting the road to play back-to-back preseason games with Grand Rapids. Regular season practice schedules will be determined at a later date.

The Monsters and Griffins will meet on Friday, October 3rd at 7:05 p.m. in Windsor, Ontario at the WFCU Centre, home of the Ontario Hockey League's Windsor Spitfires. The two teams will play again the following night, Saturday, October 4th at 7:30 p.m. at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, home of the ECHL affiliate of the Monsters and Colorado Avalanche, the Fort Wayne Komets.

The Monsters training camp roster, which is subject to change, includes 36 total players; 20 forwards, 12 defensemen, and four goaltenders. The roster breakdown is as follows:

The Monsters will open their eighth season in Grand Rapids on Friday, October 10th, and then will host the Griffins in their home opener at Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday, October 11th at 7:00 p.m. Single game tickets for the 2014-15 season are on sale now and start at only $10 per ticket. The Lake Erie Monsters are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League playing at Quicken Loans Arena and the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League playing in nearby Canton, Ohio at the Canton Civic Center.
