CLEVELAND - The AHL's defending Calder Cup Champions, the Cleveland Monsters, proudly powered by Constellation, were defeated by the Chicago Wolves on Thursday at The Q by a final score of 4-2. With the loss, the Monsters fell to 19-17-1-3 overall this season and with a .525 points percentage, remain alone in fourth place in the AHL's Central Division standings.

Nick Moutrey and Oliver Bjorkstrand combined to set up Jaime Sifers at even-strength for the game's first goal at just 1:25 of the opening period to stake Cleveland to a 1-0 lead, but Chicago's Samuel Blais equalized at 15:44 of the first, thanks to a five-on-five primary assist from the AHL's top scorer this season, Kenny Agostino.

In the middle frame, the Wolves surged in front at 4:44 when Brett Sterling potted an even-strength goal, but the Monsters were quick to tie the game at two with a T.J. Tynan even-strength marker at 6:34, set up by Moutrey and John Ramage. In the third, the Wolves grabbed the edge for good with back-to-back five-on-five goals from Wade Megan at 12:51 and Blais again at 14:53 to skate away winners by a final score of 4-2.

Monsters goaltender Anton Forsberg fell to 13-9-2 in net for Cleveland this year despite a 30-save performance while Chicago's Ville Husso improved to 6-5-0 between the pipes for the Wolves by virtue of a 23-save showing.
