Moncton Miracles News Release
It just wasn't their night. The Moncton Miracles (0-1) struggled with controlling the basketball enroute to a tough 113-89 loss to the Brampton A's (1-0).
After a tight first half, the Miracles trailed 47-46, Brampton pulled ahead after the half and never looked back. The Miracles were able to pull it to within a 10 point deficit midway through the third quarter, causing the A's to take a timeout. The A's stormed out of the timeout, scored 10 straight points and restored their lead.
The A's were lead by Cedric Moody with 31 points and 10 rebounds hitting 9 of 15 shoots (including 5 of 7 from downtown), and Evaldas Zabas who pitched in with 26 points and 10 rebounds.
The Miracles responded with 21 points and 14 rebounds from Sylvania Watkins and 15 points and 10 rebounds from Stanley Robinson.
Although the Miracles outrebounded the A's 63-60, they had 26 turnovers and shot only 35% from the field, which nullified that advantage.
The Miracles travel to Prince Edward Island on Sunday, November 3rd to take on the Storm in their second regular season game.
