Real Maryland Monarchs News Release

After grabbing a point on the road this past weekend, Real Maryland FC (1-2-2) will play two games this week at Richard Montgomery High School. The first game will take place on Thursday, May 13th against the Harrisburg City Islanders (0-3-1) who are hungry for their first win of the season. The second match this week will take place on Sunday, May 16th against the Richmond Kickers (1-1-3).

The Harrisburg City Islanders are coming off of a very tough set of road matches this past weekend where they faced the Charlotte Eagles and the Charleston Battery. On Thursday, May 13th the City Islanders will look to take back some road points from the Monarchs. In the two team's first match-up, earlier in the season, Real Maryland came away with 3 points on the road by a score of 2-0.

On Sunday, May 16th, the Richmond Kickers return to Richard Montgomery High School looking to get the valuable 3 points that slipped away in the previous meeting. Prior to the two teams tying this past weekend, Richmond was able to get a win on the road over the Monarchs in Rockville, MD just two weeks ago by a score of 1-0. The two teams won't meet again until crunch time in early August back down in Richmond.

Both games are set to be great match-ups with the possibility of putting teams on certain paths for the season. There will be giant hamster ball races again at half-time of the game on Thursday against Harrisburg. The giant hamster balls are provided by Games 2 U.
