Silver Spring, MD - Real Maryland F.C. is pleased to announce that Silvino Gonzalo has been promoted to Head Coach of Player Development of the Monarchs youth movement. In his new role, Coach Gonzalo will be directly involved with all aspects of the youth side of Real Maryland FC.

"I have known Coach Gonzalo for a long time," says General Manager David Noyes. "He knows the game well and brings a wealth of experience that will form a good foundation for our Academy Programs."

Silvino Gonzalo's resume includes numerous championships: as Head Coach of the Washington Diplomats from 1988 to 1990, the team won the league championship in 1988. His teams have also won the prestigious Champions Amateur Cup in 1985 with Club Espana and again in 1996 with the Iberia Soccer Club who championed the U.S. Open Cup in 1987.

For the later part of the 1990's and the first half the 00's, Coach Gonzalo was the coach of the Virginia Royals who participated in the United Soccer Leagues Second Division and the Premier Development League. The depth of his experience in developing and managing wining soccer teams is a great asset to Real Maryland FC, and makes him a particularly valuable asset in attracting younger players to the team.
