Milwaukee Wave News Release
MILWAUKEE (Nov. 11, 2009) - The Milwaukee Wave have hired Krista Momsen as vice president of ticket sales and business operations.
Momsen worked for the Wave for 12 years before joining the Milwaukee Kickers as director of marketing and sponsorships earlier this year. She was director of marketing and game operations for the Wave, after starting her Wave career as an intern in 1996.
"It's a great thrill for me to return to the Wave," Momsen said. "My time with the Kickers has been rewarding and I've built some great relationships, but I could not pass up the opportunity with the Wave."
"We are excited to welcome Krista back to the Wave," said Peter Wilt, president and CEO of the Wave. "She has a great understanding of both the organization and the local soccer community and will be a tremendous asset going forward."
Momsen is married and lives with her husband, Curtis, in Hartland.
The Wave also announce that Mike Lafferty, chief operating officer of the club, has left to pursue other opportunities. Lafferty spent five years with the Wave.
"We would like to thank Mike for his years of service to the Milwaukee Wave and significant contributions to both the Wave and the soccer community," Wilt said. "We wish him all the best in his future plans."
"I want to thank the Wave organization for the opportunity they gave me," Lafferty said. "I leave the Wave in great hands, and with tremendous memories."
The Wave begin their 26th season of professional indoor soccer on Nov. 22 at Monterrey. Their home opener is 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, also against Monterrey at the U.S. Cellular Arena.
The Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team is the longest-running soccer franchise in continuous operation in the United States. The team celebrated its Silver Anniversary last season, and operates the largest summer soccer camp program in Wisconsin. For more information, visit milwaukeewave.com.
