Tampa Bay Rowdies News Release
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Rowdies have strengthened their defensive ranks with the addition of Jeremy Hall on a one-year contract with a club option for 2017. Per club and league policy, further contract details were not disclosed.
Hall, 27, brings seven years of Major League Soccer experience to the Rowdies with him, having played for New York Red Bulls, the Portland Timbers, FC Dallas, Toronto FC and the New England Revolution. He made 12 appearances for the Revolution in 2015, falling just short of the 1,000 minute mark with 998 minutes on the field.
"He can play anywhere on the right-hand side," Tampa Bay Rowdies Head Coach Stuart Campbell said. "He brings great experience, having played in MLS for a number of years. Jeremy is a great addition to the squad and we're happy to have him."
Hall was a regular in Toronto FC's lineup in 2012 and 2013, making 54 appearances and playing nearly 4,000 minutes for the Reds in those seasons.
Born in Tampa, Hall was a member of the United States Under-17 National Team residency program in Bradenton before playing collegiately at the University of Maryland. He was drafted 11th overall by the New York Red Bulls in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft.
Hall joins Darnell King, also born in Tampa, as local players for the Rowdies.
"If I'm honest, when I identified him as a player I wanted, I didn't realize he was from Tampa," Campbell said. "When I heard he's originally from the area, I was pleasantly surprised. It's always nice to have players representing their hometowns at this level and it's nice for the fans to see one of their own playing for the local team."
Hall will wear the No. 25 jersey this season. He reported to Rowdies training camp this morning to begin preparing for Saturday's preseason opener against D.C. United.
The match against D.C. United is the start of an exciting few weeks for soccer fans in the Tampa Bay area, with the inaugural Rowdies Suncoast Invitational set for February 13-27. North America's biggest stars are descending on Pinellas County with D.C. United, the Montreal Impact, the Philadelphia Union, Toronto FC, New York City FC and the New York Red Bulls all set to participate in the one-of-a-kind Rowdies Suncoast Invitational.
Tickets are complimentary for 2016 Tampa Bay Rowdies season ticket holders for all Rowdies Suncoast Invitational matches. For non-season ticket members, tickets in the Midfielder's Section are $20, while tickets in the stadium bowl are $15 for adults and $10 for youth.
