
MLS Disciplinary Committee Decisions Announced

NEW YORK - The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found New York City FC forward Valentin Castellanos guilty of simulation/embellishment. Castellanos has been issued an undisclosed fine for his actions in the 22nd minute of the New York City FC match against Orlando City SC on July 14. The yellow card Orlando City SC defender Robin Jansson received as a result of this incident will be absolved from his yellow card accumulation total and any disciplinary points from Orlando City SC's total will be dismissed.
The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found Orlando City SC midfielder Nani guilty of simulation/embellishment. Nani has been issued an undisclosed fine for his actions in the 71st minute of the Orlando City SC match against New York City FC on July 14.
Philadelphia Union midfielder Jose Martinez has been suspended for one match and issued undisclosed fine for violent conduct against Inter Miami CF defender Andres Reyes in the 40th minute of the Philadelphia Union match against Inter Miami CF on July 14. The play was reviewed under Disciplinary Committee Parameter #3, in which the Disciplinary Committee may act where the Professional Referees Organization (PRO) acknowledges an on-field referee or Video Review error, and where the Committee is unanimous that the play warrants at least a one match suspension as a clear and unequivocal red card, is egregious and/or repeat behavior in nature, and/or the Committee must act to protect player safety or the integrity of the game.
