
Mitchell Signs with San Jose

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth announced today that Offensive/Defensive Lineman Drew Mitchell (6-4, 265, Savannah State) has signed with the San Jose Sabercats of the Arena Football League (AFL). Mitchell is the eighth former Stealth player to be signed by an Arena Football League team this year. He joins Anthony Buich, Chris Enneking, Dustin Fish, Brian Goolsby, Cliff Holloman, Brian Livingston, and Will Sullivan as former Stealth players who have signed AFL contracts this off-season.
Mitchell played in 14 games with the Stealth last season. He compiled eight receptions for 65 yards and two touchdowns on offense. Defensively, he accounted for 18 tackles (10 unassisted), two tackles for loss, one sack, and five pass break-ups.
This will be Mitchell's fourth season in the AFL. He has played for the Portland Forest Dragons (1998-99) and the Oklahoma Wranglers (2000). He has totaled 25 AFL games, 19 solo tackles, seven assisted tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, and six pass break-ups.
STEALTH NOTES: Season tickets are available by calling the Stealth ticket sales representatives at 316.755.3307. Fans can secure the same great seats for all eight home games during the 2004 season for as little as $80. The Stealth will kickoff their fourth season in late March 2004 at the Kansas Coliseum.
