Coyotes to Hold Player and Dance Team Tryouts

(Fresno, CA) – The Central Valley Coyotes of the arenafootball2 league will be holding player and dance team tryouts for the 2004 season this weekend. Listed below are the dates, times and locations for the appropriate tryout.

Saturday, January 24 – The Coyotes will be holding player tryouts at Reedley College, located at 995 North Reed Ave., in Reedley, CA 93654. Registration will start at 8:00 AM and will be held at the football field. Registration cost will be $50. Camp participants will be evaluated by Coyotes Head Coach Cree Morris, and members of the Coyotes staff. Athletes will be analyzed in several drills, which include 40-yard dash, short shuttle, and broad and/or vertical jumps.

Athletes are encouraged to bring athletic attire for the camp and a pair of cleats. Players will seek an invitation to the Coyotes Training Camp, which begins in February with 35 invitees competing to make a 21-man roster.

Sunday, January 25 – The Coyotes will be holding open auditions at the Selland Arena, located at 700 ‘M' St. in Fresno, CA 93721. Registration for this session will begin promptly at 8:00 am. We are looking for energetic, athletic and enthusiastic dancers that are able to dazzle a crowd with various dance styles. Those participating must pay a $30 non-refundable fee or $40 at the door and need only attend one audition.

Those attending will be judged on kicks, turns, combinations, jumps, acrobatics, and appearance. Participants should wear proper dance attire such as dance sneakers or jazz shoes and form-fitted dance outfits. Stage make-up and full hair is also required. Locker room facilities will be available.

The Coyotes will play a 16 game schedule with 8 weekend games played at the Selland Arena beginning in late March. Home dates for the 2004 season have not been released by the af2 at this time, but all home games will be played on weekends.
