
Missouri's Odegaard to Play in Olympics for Norway

GLENDALE, AZ (January 7, 2014) - The 2014 Olympic Winter Games are just over a month away and on Tuesday, the Central Hockey League learned that Missouri Mavericks defenseman Henrik Odegaard has been named to the Norwegian Olympic Ice Hockey Team.
The 25-year-old was assigned to the Mavericks at the start of the season from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.
A native of Asker, Norway, Odegaard has played in 28 games with the Mavs this season recording two assists and a +3 plus/minus rating.
"It is an incredible honor for an athlete to compete for his country, and now Henrik will have a huge support system of fans right here in Kansas City cheering for him as he squares off against some of the very best players in the world," said Missouri Head Coach Scott Hillman.
Norway will compete in Group B of the seeds in Sochi competing initially amongst Finland, Austria and the defending gold medal winners from Canada.
