Mississippi Braves News Release

Pearl, MS -- The Mississippi Braves will host the Birmingham Barons in the first six-game homestand of the 2008 season. The M-Braves are 5-1 and lead the Southern League South division by one game over the Barons. If that weren't enough, Atlanta Braves' centerfielder Mark Kotsay will be making a Major League rehab appearance with the M-Braves during the homestand. A first place team, a Major League rehab and some awesome promotions make for an exciting six-game homestand.

The Braves open the homestand on Tuesday, June 24th with Trustmark Two for Tuesday on "A Pitch for Responsible Fatherhood" night. All tickets, hot dogs, fountain drinks and popcorn will be two-for-one.

Wednesday, June 25th will be Kids Night at the ballpark when kids 14 and under will get field level seats for only $2, FunZone wristbands for $5 and personal pizzas from the Hot Corner Slice for $4.

Thursday night, the 26th, will be Thirsty Thursday when all 16 oz fountain drinks and draft beer will be $1 as well as Chick-Fil-A promotional night. The Chick-Fil-A mascot will be in attendance and free food coupons will be given out at the gates.

Friday night will be a special 'Shirt off Our Backs' night at Trustmark Park where the M-Braves players will where Parrothead jerseys in tribute to Jimmy Buffett. A silent auction for the game-worn jerseys will be held during the game and the always-spectacular Friday Night Fireworks Extravaganza will follow the game.

The first 2,000 fans at Trustmark Park Saturday night will receive a free M-Braves mini bat and the Bucket Boys will be on hand to entertain the fans during the game. There will also be a silent auction during the game for M-Braves memorabilia.

Sunday afternoon will mark the Braves final Sunday day game of the season. Sunday is highlighted by the FamilyFest when a family of four can get four tickets, four hot dogs or hamburgers, four bags of peanuts or crackerjacks, four M-Braves hats, two game programs and wristbands for the children for only $52. It's also US Postal Day when the US Postal Service will unveil a new breast cancer stamp and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free catchet.
