Behind the left arm of Braves' starter Chris Waters, Mississippi downs the Looks, 7-4. Waters (3-3) pitched six strong innings, allowing two runs on four hits, while striking out four, en rout to his third victory of the season.
The Braves jumped on Lookouts' starter Steve Kelly for two runs in the first inning. Luis Hernandez belted a two run shot into the Tennessee State Parks Picnic seats for his first home run of the season.
With the score 2-0 in the Braves favor in the fourth inning, Southern League Hitter of the Week, Noochie Varner sent a solo blast over the batters eye in right center field to bring the Looks within one. However, that was as close as they would get as the Braves exploded for five more runs.

The Lookouts scored a run in the seventh after a bases load walk. Then in the eighth, the Looks put two more runs on the board, but couldn't close the deficit in the end. Lookouts starter Steve Kelly suffered the loss after tossing six innings and allowing five runs on seven hits.
The Lookouts will look to knot the series at two games apiece tomorrow night. Gates open at 5:30 with the first pitch scheduled for 7:15.
