Mississippi Blues Announce First Tryout Camp

July 6, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Mississippi Blues News Release

Biloxi, MI. The ABA Mississippi Blues will be heading into its sophomore season with high expectations. The team saw good success in its inaugural season defeating some of the higher ranked teams in the ABA Power Rankings. The Blues made it to the East Divisional Semi-Finals before falling to the Knoxville Thunderbolts.

Four players received honors this past season in the division and one Blues player, Roderick Smith, made the East All-Star team that played in Nashville. So, the Mississippi Blues look to continue its success next season and improve even more.

The team will be re-locating to the Mississippi Gulf Coast this season to bring affordable professional basketball to the Coast and will hold its first tryouts on July 18, 2009. The tryouts will be at Biloxi High School. Team owner Daniel Price expects to find great additions to the Mississippi Blues to help them make a title run. Registrations for the tryouts begin at 8am Saturday, July 18th and tryouts begin at 9am. For more information, please contact Daniel Price at 601 951 5045 or Otis Gaines at 228 313 5842 or email dprice@msblueshoops.com or visit www.msblueshoops.com or www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
