Miss Louisiana IceGator Finalists Are Announced

Lafayette, LA - On March 14th the Louisiana IceGators hosted the 2010 Miss Louisiana IceGator contest. The preliminary rounds were hosted at the Crowne Plaza Ballroom. Eight young ladies ranging from 19-25 years of age were judged in two categories-bathing suit and evening gown. The ladies were judged by celebrity judges Tyrelle Daly, President of the IceGators Booster Club, George Faust, Sports Director KFLY Channel 10, Krista Romero, host on 97.3 the Dawg, and Jeff Horchack, the weekend sports anchor for KLFY Channel 10.

"This was a very successful event," stated the Lisa Chouest. "It was a great competition; all of the girls had wonderful personalities and were beautiful. It was a hard decision. The entire evening was a grand evening. Even though we just got done with this year's Miss Louisiana IceGator contest, we are looking forward to next year's Miss Louisiana IceGator competition."

The competition winner will be the spokesperson of the IceGators for an entire year. The winner will also participate in hockey game activities during the 2010-11 season, be involved in billboard campaigns and radio and television advertisements. Miss Louisiana IceGator will also receive a crown and banner and 500 photo autograph cards.

Logan Travis, Brittany Louviere, and Kristy Jimenez advanced to the finals and the winner will be crowned during an intermission of the IceGators vs. Columbus Cottonmouths on Saturday, March 20th. During the first intermission these girls will answer a few questions and then one of them will be crowned Miss Louisiana IceGator.

Gator fans will have the opportunity to decide the winner of this year's Miss Louisiana IceGator competition. Go to icegators.com to vote for their favorite lady. The fans vote will count for 20% of the final total.

The 'Gators continue the road trip going to Huntsville (March 18) and Columbus (March 19). Louisiana will return home for the final time of the 2009-10 season on March 20 against the Columbus Cottonmouths.
