MISL championship series has familiar look

CLEVELAND, OHIO- The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Championship series will kickoff this weekend with a familiar look. The best of five series will be a rematch of last season's MISL Championship series as the Central Division Champion and number one seed Milwaukee Wave and the defending MISL Champion, Eastern Division Champion and number two seed Baltimore Blast will face off against each other for the second consecutive year.

The Blast advanced to their second consecutive MISL Championship series by defeating the Western Division Champion Dallas Sidekicks by a final score of 6-1 at the 1st Mariner Arena on Friday night. The Wave will be making their fifth straight Championship series appearance after defeating the fifth seeded Kansas City Comets by a final score of 7-3 at the U.S. Cellular Arena on Friday night.

Milwaukee won the regular season series with Baltimore 3-1 and is 26-15 lifetime versus the Blast. Baltimore will look to capture its second straight MIS: crown after the team defeated the Wave 2-1 last year and won the decisive game three at the Bradley Center. The two teams have met just four times in the post-season and both teams have won two games apiece.

The best of five MISL Championship series will kickoff this Friday, April 23 night at U.S. Cellular Arena with game two to be played on Saturday, April 24 at U.S. Cellular Arena. Games three will be played in Baltimore on Friday, April 30 and game four if necessary will be played on Saturday, May 1 at 1st Mariner Arena. If a game five is need the game will be held on Saturday, May 8 at U.S. Cellular Arena. All games times will be played locally at 7:35 p.m. The games can be heard live on www.wcbm.com.
