September 15, 2004 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
Philadelphia KiXX News Release
Philadelphia, PA, September 15, 2004 â The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today the 2004-05 regular-season schedule for the Philadelphia KiXX. The club kicks-off their ninth season of professional indoor soccer on the road for two contests, before returning to the Wachovia Spectrum to entertain the defending MISL Champion Baltimore Blast for the team's home opener on Saturday, November 6, 2004. Game-time for the club's 2004-05 home opener is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET, with the doors opening at 6:00 pm ET.
The 40-game schedule consists of 20-home and 20-road dates, commencing Saturday, October 23 as the KiXX battle Eastern Division foe, the Cleveland Force, at the Convocation Center at CSU and then concluding on Sunday, April 24 versus the San Diego Sockers at the San Diego Sports Arena.
The majority of the season's home schedule features weekend dates, with 19 of the 20 (95%) outings taking place on Friday (one), Saturday (15), or Sunday (three). The lone exception is Wednesday, February 16 when the club continues the MISL tradition of playing a "School Day Game." The innovative program offers school-age children educational elements combined with the excitement of professional indoor soccer.
Looking at a month-by-month breakdown, the KiXX begin the season with one contest in the month of October, six in November, and seven in the month of December. The club then brings in the new year with eight outings in January and then six contests in each of the remaining three months of the season; February, March and April.
Overall, the KiXX compete in 10 back-to-back contests; five of which feature an away contest in the first contest of the set, followed by a home game. Two are composed of a pair of home dates and another two features a pair of road games. The last set of back-to-back games is composed of a home contest, followed by a road outing.
With the addition of the Chicago Storm and the Dallas Sidekicks becoming inactive, the League will again use a three division alignment. The KiXX remain in the Eastern Division with the Baltimore Blast and the Cleveland Force. The Chicago Storm joins the Milwaukee Wave and the St. Louis Steamers in the Central Division, while the Kansas City Comets move into the Western Division with the Monterrey Fury and the San Diego Sockers.
