Miracles Hand Storm 118-104 Loss in Moncton

(Charlottetown, PE) The Moncton Miracles used a big 4th quarter to pull away from the Island STORM 118-104 in Moncton Saturday night. Moncton outscored the STORM 36-23 in the 4th to secure the win.

The STORM's Rashad Whack led all scorers in the game with 29 points while adding 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Billy Rush scored 20 and grabbed 9 rebounds, Mike Martin had a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Nick Evans added 12 points.

The STORM out rebounded the Miracles 60-41 in the game but it was shooting which propelled Moncton to the win. Daquan Brooks scored 21 points for the Miracles while Chris Mathews scored 20 points, including 6-8 from behind the arc. In fact, Moncton shot 65% as a team from the 3 point line for the night.

The STORM fall to 7-6 on the season but still remain in first place in the Atlantic Division of the NBL Canada tied with Halifax who are 6-5. The win by Moncton moves them out of the basement of the division for the first time this year with a record of 5-8, a half-game ahead of the Saint John Mill Rats.

The STORM now head home for three in a row when the host the Miracles on Boxing Day afternoon at 2 pm, the Saint John Mill Rats on New Year's Eve at 7pm, and the Halifax Rainmen Saturday January 3rd at 7pm. All games are played at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown.

The STORM have partnered with the Salvation Army Food Bank and It Works! Global to "Stuff the Bus" on Boxing Day. STORM Fans are asked to bring one or more food items to the game and fill the STORM Bus. Each Fan donating will receive a ballot to win one of 3 draws for a pair of VIP Courtside Seats for the January 3rd game.
