
Miracles Depleted Squad Fall to the Storm

(Moncton, NB) The Moncton Miracles depleted squad lost to Island Storm with a final score of 83-108 in front of 1,256 fans. Trayvon Lathan, Chris Matthews, and Troy Brewer did not play due to injuries and are all day to day.
The visiting Island Storm came out strong in the first twelve minutes of play and lead for most of it. The Miracles knew that they would have to take care of the ball as they were dealing with a short bench. Moncton would end the first quarter in a 22-28 deficit.
Shawn Vanzant hit Tyler Murray for a 3 to tie the game for the first time late in seconds quarter to tie the game for the first time, 32-32. The Storm would once again pull ahead and end the half leading 46-42 over the Storm. Tyler Murray would lead the way for the Miracles with 11 points, while Shawn Vanzant added in with 10. Mike Martin was the first half force for the Storm with 12 points, Nick Okorie and Brandon Robinson each netted 8.
Moncton would continue to chase the Storm in the third quarter and with 3:30 to play Tyler Murray made a baseline 3 to tie the game 60-60 before drawing the foul to head to the line. Murray would complete the 4-point play to give the Miracles a 61-60 lead. The Storm would end the quarter on a 7-0 run and the Miracles would start the fourth quarter down 61-67.
The Island Storm would completely take over the final minutes of play and started the fourth quarter on a 23-8 run. They would lead by as much as 27 points in the fourth and finish 108-83.
Tyler Murray led the way for the Miracles with 20 points. Tramar Sutherland followed with 14.
Nick Okorie was the force for the Storm with 27 points. Mike Martn 15 dropped 20 for the visiting Island squad.
The Miracles next home game is scheduled for Saturday, January 10th against the Mississauga Power. Tip-off is 7pm at the Moncton Coliseum.
