Halifax, (NS) - The Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club were in action February 18th at the Scotiabank Centre against the Moncton Miracles. The Hurricanes fell 98-93 to the Miracles. The Hurricanes now have a record of 12-5.
Hurricanes trailed the Miracles 17-24 after the first quarter, and at halftime the Hurricanes led the Mill Rats 46-35. The Hurricanes were outscored by the Miracles 16-35 in the third quarter, leading 62-70 at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Hurricanes outscored the Miracles 31-28 but it wasn't enough to earn the victory; Miracles defeat Hurricanes 98-93.
Guard, Justin Johnson led the Hurricanes with 21 points. Forward, Mike Glover scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Guard, JerShon Cobb scored 15 points. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 15 points. Forward, Billy White scored 13 points. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 10 points.
Guard, Dexter Strickland led the Miracles with 23 points. Guard, Justice James scored 18 points. Forward, Brando Kearney scored 17 points. Forward, Tydran Beaty scored 13 points. Center, Thomas Granado scored 10 points.
The Hurricanes will face the Island Storm Friday evening at the Scotiabank Centre.
