FORT MYERS, FL - On the heels of their longest game in franchise history, the Fort Myers Miracle couldn't muster enough offense for the third straight game and saw their losing streak reach three in a 4-3 defeat at the hands of the Clearwater Threshers on Friday night at Hammond Stadium.

The Miracle entered play having not scored in 19 consecutive innings and when the Threshers got on the board first in the third on an RBI ground out from Peeter Ramos, the Miracle snapped their streak in the bottom of the inning. With two out and Kyle Geiger at first, Alexi Casilla extended his hitting streak to nine games with an RBI double down the left field line to tie the game at one. Casilla went 3-4 with a double and RBI

Miracle starter Kyle Aselton was strong going 5.2 innings. He walked the last batter he faced in the sixth inning. Alexander Farfan came out of the bullpen and promptly gave up a two run homer to Brian Selliers to make it 3-1 Threshers. Aselton went 5.2 allowing two runs on three hits while walking three and striking out seven. Farfan gave up a solo homer to Zach Norman in the seventh to make it 4-1.

The Miracle made a game of it in the ninth off of Thresher closer Adam Schafer. Garrett Guzman led off the inning with a walk. With one out Luke Hughes singled to right. Jeremy Pickrel then doubled to left that brought home two runs and made it 4-3. Pinch hitter Erold Andrus, however, popped out to second and Johnny Woodard struck out to end the game.

The same two teams meet Saturday night in the finale of the three game series. The Miracle send LHP John Thomas (0-0, 0.00) to the hill against Thresher RHP Julio de La Cruz (0-0, 0.00)
