DAYTONA BEACH -- Chris Parmelee has homered in two straight and Deibinson Romero hit his second homer in as many series, but the Daytona Cubs got to Tyler Robertson early in a 6-4 loss for the Fort Myers Miracle.

Parmelee's home run was to straightaway center in the eighth inning, while Romero's went out to left in the fourth. Unfortunately, the Miracle never led in this game after red-hot Robinson Chirinos and Jovan Rosa went back-to-back to begin the second inning. The Cubs (27-28) would add one run each in the third and fourth, and two more in the fifth.

The Miracle (38-21) showed signs of life in the ninth. Romero was down to his final strike with two outs when he drove in Chris Cates to cut the lead to two, but Parmelee struck out with a runner at first to end the inning.

Chirinos finished 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored, and RBI. Romero finished 3-for-5 as well, with two singles, a home run, and two RBI. Nick Romero was 3-for-4, all singles, and despite the game- ending strikeout Parmelee was 2-for-5.

Tyler Robertson (3-3) suffered the loss. He permitted five earned runs, six total, on ten hits in five innings. He walked one and struck out four. Santos Arias and Blair Erickson combined to keep the Cubs at bay with a scoreless three innings and three strikeouts.

Dustin Sasser (3-0) recorded the victory in relief of Andrew Cashner, who didn't finish the fifth inning. The Cubs' first-round pick a year ago gave up two earned runs on four hits in four and one-third, walking one and fanning two. Luke Sommer had a shaky ninth but got his first save.

All-Star Ryan Searle will face Deolis Guerra in Friday's second game.
