Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
FORT MYERS, FL (July 13, 2012) - The Fort Myers Miracle announced today the addition of John Kuhn as Senior Director of Business Development. Kuhn is an original member of the Miracle Front Office from 1992-95.
"It's great to have John back in Fort Myers. He returns to us with a wealth of experience and brings an unbridled passion and enthusiasm for everything that is Miracle Baseball," said Miracle General Manager Andrew Seymour.
Kuhn attended Cypress Lake High School, Edison College and graduated cum laude from Tusculum College (Greeneville, TN) as a three-year varsity letterman in baseball. He has served in virtually every front office capacity possible including general manager, president, and minority owner.
After leaving the Miracle and the Goldklang Group, John and his family owned the Kalamazoo (Michigan) Kodiaks and the London (Ontario) Werewolves of the Frontier League where he served as General Manager. From 2005-2009, John was President of the Sioux Falls (South Dakota) Canaries. He has also been involved with baseball clubs in Madison, Wisconsin; Joliet, Illinois; St. Paul, Minnesota; O'Fallon, Missouri; and Pittsfield, Massachusetts. His first year in baseball was 1990 with the Fort Myers Sun Sox of the Senior Professional Baseball Association (SPBA). The 2012 campaign marks his 22nd in professional baseball.
"After seventeen years away, it is wonderful to be back home in Fort Myers. I was fortunate that Mike Veeck gave me the opportunity to be a part of the original Miracle crew and I am grateful to Marv Goldklang and Jeff Goldklang for allowing me the opportunity to return home. It is amazing to see the footprint the Miracle have in the community and I look forward to working with corporate partners to help increase that footprint," said Kuhn.
John, his wife Jennifer and son TJ, live in South Fort Myers and enjoy all the outdoor activities that Southwest Florida has to offer. The Harry Chapin Food Bank is where they volunteer their time.
