Minot Skyrockets News Release

Anderson, IN - January 7, 2007 - Though they led most of the game, the Minot Skyrockets found themselves just short of a victory today. With 21 lead changes and the point difference never hitting double digits, this was a tight game from start to finish. But in the end, the Skyrockets lost to Indiana 112-111.

"This was the second time we lost to Indiana on a last second shot. Last time, Ray Cunningham missed a last second shot. Today, Willie Mitchell missed a last second shot. But we'll keep on fighting. Pittsburgh is next. It's tough to lose like that, especially twice to the same team. But we'll keep working hard and get ready for Pittsburgh," said Head Coach Chris Daleo.

Willie Mitchell was the leading scorer for Minot with 33 points. Both Jitim Young and Ray Cunningham posted double-dobules. Young had 20 points and 11 assists, and Ray Cunningham posted 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Minot won 1.5 quarter points in the contest, giving them a quarter point average of 3.38. They return to Minot with an 8-9 record on the season.

The Skyrockets next games will be back home in Minot on Wednesday, January 10th and Thursday, January 11th when they take on the Pittsburgh Xplosion. Both games will tip-off at 7:05 pm at the Minot Municipal Auditorium. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 839-SLAM.

The team plays 8 more home games in the month of January alone, so fans have plenty of opportunities to see the only professional sports team in town. A full season schedule can be found online at www.minotskyrockets.com.
