
Minot edges Pittsburgh to stay in CBA playoff hunt

PITTSBURGH, March 22, 2007 - Rob Griffin and Corey Minnifield tallied 24 points apiece for Pittsburgh (10-36), but Minot (30-17) connected on key buckets late in both quarters and regulation to earn six quarter points and post a 115-110 victory in Continental Basketball Association action at Mellon Arena.
Minot rallied to steal the first and fourth quarters. The Skyrockets captured the opening frame, 33-32, and took the final period, 30-29. Minot also took the second quarter, 24-18, to lead at halftime, 57-50. The Xplosion won the third quarter, 31-28, and briefly held the lead late in regulation.
Three-point shooting provided the margin in the game as Minot hit 9-17 triples, while the Black and Gold were just 4-17 from downtown.
Pittsburgh closes out the home portion of the schedule on Friday at Mellon Arena. Friday's contest will feature a special pregame exhibition between the Steelers Basketball Team and a squad of local celebrities beginning at 7:00 PM.
