Minor League Affiliates Join Forces with TCL for 2020 Season

With the 2020 Texas Collegiate League season right around the corner, the Texas Collegiate League and the Victoria Generals announce they will be joined in 2020 by five Minor League organization including Double-A franchises Amarillo (two teams), Frisco and Tulsa, and Triple-A franchises San Antonio and Round Rock. These teams will comprise of active college players from different colleges and universities from across the nation.

"First off, we are excited to get our 2020 season under way and allow our fans in Victoria an opportunity to enjoy outdoor sporting events once again," commented Mike Yokum, the VP/GM for the Victoria Generals. "Adding these Minor League organizations allows us an opportunity to showcase the TCL in additional markets and widen our fan base throughout Texas and Oklahoma."

These 10 teams will be divided into two divisions (North and South). The North Division will include Amarillo's two teams, Frisco, Tulsa, and Texarkana while the South Division will include San Antonio, Round Rock, Brazos Valley, Acadiana and Victoria. These teams will each play a total of 30 regular-season games (15 home games and 15 road games), followed by a postseason. The format for the postseason will begin with a three-game divisional series matching the top two teams from each division. The divisional winners will face off in a winner-take-all championship game to claim the Texas Collegiate Championship title.

The Generals will kick off the season beginning next week as players begin reporting on Monday, June 15th for a short two week pre-season tune-up as they prepare for the season opener on June 30th. Head to Riverside Stadium starting next week and catch the pre-season action with inter squad and pre-season games. Dates will be communicated via the Victoria Generals website and through social media posts. Free admission for all pre-season games.
