Minnesota United FC News Release
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - The Loons are back on their home turf after a tough game in Salt Lake City on Wednesday. Though the Loons made a calculated decision to test their depth as they put put a rotated squad, a 3-0 drubbing will certainly not sit well with the folks in the locker room. MNUFC must move past this hiccup and turn to Saturday's match against FC Dallas. The Loons sit just one point ahead of Dallas and two above the fifth and sixth seeds in the Western Conference. While Minnesota has historically been successful against Dallas in Minnesota, Dallas will be extra motivated to succeed, with a tough draw in their last match and their position in the top four resting on shaky ground.
ADRIAN HEATH ON THE MATCH AGAINST FC DALLAS THE MOST IMPORTANT OF THE SEASON
"Possibly. I think we've put ourselves, with the run that we've had, as I say, two defeats in 12, has put us in a really good spot. I'm sure there's 11 teams below us that would rather be where we are. We need a couple wins between now and the end of the season, I think, to give us a good chance, maybe a little bit more to have a home field advantage in the playoffs. Tomorrow is a huge game with six to go. Put a little bit of breathing space between us and [FC] Dallas and we'll see where we are but we know it's going to be a difficult game."
MICHAEL BOXALL ON GETTING THE BETTER OF JESUS FERREIRA
"If you can slow him down with running the ball and also... it's not just a one or two-man job picking up [Jesus] Ferreira. He makes runs late off the ball. Denying that service, making [FC] Dallas serve the ball into areas where we have numbers or areas where they're not comfortable. It's going to be a full 11-man job to stop them. They've got good players around him so it's not just Ferreira too."

ROAD RAGE: It would be sufficient to say that Minnesota's trip to Utah on Wednesday was not a pleasant one, as the Loons departed at the rough end of a 3-0 defeat to Real Salt Lake. The club, as noted earlier this week, has been as successful as they have ever been on the road this season, but couldn't get it done on this occasion. They now turn their attention back home to an FC Dallas team that has also seen their fair share of struggles on the road. Dallas has just three victories in their 14 road games this year, and their last trip put them on the wrong end of a lopsided shut-out, as they were comprehensively beaten 4-0 by Nashville two weeks ago. These stats also hold true within this specific matchup; Dallas has won just once in six tries in the state of Minnesota - in their very first trip here way back in June 2018 - and the Loons have won each of the last five matchups. On Saturday, MNUFC will look to both continue that win streak and complete their first-ever sweep of Dallas, after winning at Toyota Stadium for the first time in May.
