Minnesota Swarm's Ryder Bateman Named to NLL All-Rookie Team

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced that Minnesota Swarm forward Ryder Bateman has been named to the 2005 Edge Advanced All-Rookie Team as voted on by the Head Coaches, Governors and General Managers of the league's ten member clubs.

Bateman, 25 (2/28/80), recorded 20 goals and 19 assists for 39 points and picked up 56 loose balls in 14 games during his rookie NLL campaign with Minnesota. The 6-foot, 195-pound forward ranked first among League rookies with 11 power play goals, tied for second in goals and third in scoring and assists. Bateman was named the NLL Rookie of the Week twice during the season following Week #7 and Week #16 of the 2005 campaign. The Calgary, Alberta-native ranked second on the Swarm in goals and fourth in scoring. He was selected by Minnesota in the first round (6th overall) of the 2004 NLL Entry Draft.
