SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League (NLL) announced today that Nick Patterson has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the final week of the NLL's 2007 regular season.

Patterson was named the Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in an 11-8 victory over the Philadelphia Wings on Friday night. Patterson tallied 47 saves and allowed only eight goals in the victory at Wachovia Center as Minnesota clinched its second consecutive playoff berth. He did not play in the Swarm's 16-15 victory over Arizona on Saturday. Patterson finished the regular season with a 7-5 record and a 11.43 GAA and a .775 SV%.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers and Head Coaches of the league's thirteen member clubs. Patterson is the first Swarm player to win a weekly award this season.

Minnesota, the third seed in the East, will meet the Buffalo Bandits on Sunday, April 22 at HSBC Arena at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) in a first round playoff game.
