Minnesota Swarm Signs Goalie Mike Attwood and Forward Travis Hill

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota Swarm general manager Marty O'Neill announced today that the National Lacrosse League (NLL) team has signed goaltender Mike Attwood and forward Travis Hill to contracts. In addition, the club announced today that it has released forward Trent Smalley and placed goaltender Nick Patterson on injured reserve. Patterson suffered a torn MCL in his left knee during Saturday's game at Philadelphia.

Attwood, 20 (10/9/84), was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (55th overall) of the 2004 NLL Entry Draft. He recorded 21 points (1-20=21) in 20 games with the St. Catharines Athletics of the Ontario Junior Lacrosse Association (OJLA) last year. The St. Catharines, Ontario-native will wear jersey number 43 with the Swarm.

Hill, 22 (6/30/82), appeared in one game with the St. Catharines Athletics of the Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) last year and collected an assist. He recorded 25 points (10=15=25) and 34 penalty minutes in 17 games with the Athletics Junior ‘A' team in 2003. The Lewiston, New York-native will wear jersey number 47 with Minnesota.

The Swarm hosts the Buffalo Bandits at Xcel Energy Center on Friday, March 11 at 7:30 PM. The first 10,000 fans will receive Stinger Sticks courtesy of Dominium Apartments.
