
Minnesota Swarm Re-signs D Ryan Sharp

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill today announced the National Lacrosse League (NLL) team has re-signed D Ryan Sharp to a two-year contract.
Sharp, 25 (1/21/83), enters his fifth NLL season and third with the Swarm. Last season the 6-1, 205 pound native of Peterborough, Ontario scored 20 points (9-11=20) in 15 games. He led team defensemen in scoring and ranked seventh on the team. Sharp also set a career high with 72 penalty minutes, finishing second on the team. Prior to joining the Swarm, Sharp played parts of two seasons in Portland where he set career highs for goals (16), assists (14), and points (30) during the 2006 season. In 46 career NLL games, he has amassed 62 points (29-33=62), 142 penalty minutes, 297 loose balls and 125 shots.
Sharp is the 14th player to be signed by the Swarm in recent weeks. On October 20th Minnesota announced the signing of 11 players, including F Chad Culp, D Nick Inch, F Dan Marohl, G Bruce Bickford, F Justin Haworth, F Marc Jackson, D Riley Kemp, F Tom Michaelsen, D Ricky Pages, F Andrew Watt and D Ross Zimmerman. Minnesota then announced the signing of F Colin Achenbach and F Kevin Buchanan on October 24th.
