Ripknees at Augsburg

Ripknees staff is looking for qualified candidates

interested in interships for this upcoming season. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Augsbug College's Christensen Center coach Larry McKenzie and staff will be accepting applications. There's an array positions for college students from marketing to photojournalism. This is a great opportunty for recent college graduates to gain work experience in professional sports.

The Ripknees are a young and intimate organization with opportunities for interns to make a strong impact, which is something that other sports franchises do not frequently offer. We are looking for ambitious and creative individuals for our internship program to assist in our growth and success this season.

Cause for a Burrito

The Chipotle at 225 Hennepin Ave. East will donate every dollar it brings from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 9 to the 24-hour basketball-a-thon Oct. 12 to Oct. 13 at DeLaSalle High School. That money will then be donated to the Red Cross for its efforts at the time of the 35W bridge collapse.

Ripknees players and coaches will be on hand for the event to meet fans and sign autographs. The team will play from 11 a.m. to noon Oct. 13 with members from the Triple Double Basketball league and with students from DeLaSalle.

Join the Street Team

The Ripknees are looking for dedicated individuals to help promote their basketball team around the Twin Cities. Street team members will be expected to distribute posters and calendars and meet once a week to talk about weekly promotions. In return, street team members will have access to all games, events, and receive free merchandise. Don't miss your chance to become a part of one of Minneapolis' fastest growing sports franchise.

Search for a Superhero

This fall the Twin Cities will get its first look at Ripknee, the superhero mascot of the Minnesota Ripknees, and the team is looking for someone Marvel enough to play the role. We're looking for gymnasts, acrobats, athletes, plumbers, anyone, to contact us if you are interested in becoming Ripknee. An open tryout will be held to try to fill the position.

The 2007-08 Ripknees PBL schedule will be announced within the next few weeks. Tickets will go on sale upon its release. Check MNRipknees.com periodically for updates so that you can be the first to reserve tickets for the upcoming season!
