Miners To Introduce Mascots

Southern Illinois Miners News Release
Marion, IL - On Saturday, May 5th at Marion Toyota, The Southern Illinois Miners baseball team will unveil the name of their 3 mascots and the name of the children who named them. The Miners three mascots will be revealed to the public for the first time as well as the "name the mascot" contest winners.
The Miners Mascot Challenge received hundreds of entries from children in the Southern Illinois region. The mascot winners will receive four box seat season tickets, a Miners mascot appearance at their birthday party, lifetime membership in the Miners Kid's Club, a story and picture with the mascot's in the Miners team program and on-field recognition on opening day.
The Miners will also distribute their 2007 Kids Club T-shirts at the mascot unveiling. Kids Club member should bring their membership card to the unveiling to claim their T-shirt.
97.7 The Bear, the Miners flagship station, will broadcast live from the event.
