Southern Illinois Miners News Release
Marion, IL - The Southern Illinois Miners won't be the only big thing happening in Southern Illinois this summer. The Miners will offer fans exciting baseball and exciting baseball promotions for the 2007 campaign from opening day to the final day of the regular season.
After the historic night to open their new stadium, the Miners will have three nights dedicated to unions, making dreams come true and having a blast.
On Monday's all union workers will be able to enter Miners Stadium for $2 off any box or reserved seat. The first Union Monday is June 4th, when the Miners host the Gateway Grizzles.
Wednesday's, the Minefrs will help local fans make dreams come true with Wish Wednesday. Wish Wednesday gives fans the opportunity to work as the public address announcer, work in the scoreboard room, sing the national anthem or serve as the radio announcer. The Miners first Wish Wednesday takes place May 30th against the Evansville Otters.
Friday games will be fantastic with Fantastic Friday Fireworks. The Fantastic Fireworks show takes place after every Miners Friday night game. Miner's fans will be able to enjoy the Miners fireworks display on the field and during the post-game fireworks display beginning with their June 1st game against the Gateway Grizzlies.
