Milwaukee Wave News Release
MILWAUKEE, WI - The Milwaukee Wave swept the weekend with a win over the Omaha Vipers 10-6 Saturday night and a 17-16 victory in Missouri Friday night. The Wave once again had a well balanced attack throughout the game with four players scoring.
Guiliano Oliviero opened the game scoring his sixth point of the weekend. Vipers answered with a goal by Carlos Farias ending the period in a 2-2 tie.
Marco Terminesi struck first in the second-quarter extending his games with a point streak to 21 games. The Vipers quickly punched their own goal tying the game at 4-4. The Wave responded with a goal by Travis MacKenzie to give the Wave a 6-4 lead going into halftime.
The third quarter proved to be a physical defensive battle with neither team scoring. The Wave jumped out first in the fourth quarter with a goal by Marcio Leite extending the Waves lead to 8-4. The Vipers were unable to capitalize on the powerplay due to Hewerton's penalty for tripping. They did add a goal when Hewerton scored on an assist by Liete that brought the lead to 8-6. Leite scored with just under three minutes left sealing the Wave's win. The Vipers went with a sixth-attacker but the Wave's defensive which was strong all night held them without a goal and recorded 11 team blocks for the game.
The Milwaukee Wave plays next Friday night Feb. 4 against rivals Baltimore Blast at 7 p.m. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Yankee Hill Apartments Marco Terminesi Wall Cling. Family 4-Pack discounts are available.
